CAT Eligibility Criteria 2019

Check CAT eligibility 2019 before filling the application:

  • Qualifying Exam: Applicant must have a bachelor degree from the recognized university
  • Applicants, those complete professional degrees (CA/CS/ICWA) with required percentage can also apply.
  • Qualifying Marks: Secure minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% marks for SC/ST/PWD categories).
  • Appearing Applicants: If applicant appear in the last year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent are also eligible to apply.
  • Age Criteria: There will be no age restriction to apply for CAT exam.

CAT Registration 2019

  • Applicants can fill CAT 2019 Application Form through online mode
  • CAT 2019 Registration window has been opened from 7th August to 25th September 2019 (5:00 PM) (Extended).
  • At the time of online registration, applicants have to select 4 Test cities centers as per their preferences.
  • Applicants can fill the CAT application form 2019 carefully.
  • Upload scanned passport size photograph & signature, SC/ST/OBC-NCL certificate, PwD certificate while registration.
  • Applicants should get a printout copy of the filled application for further use.

Registration Fee:

  • The registration fee is Rs. 950 (For SC/ST/PwD categories) & Rs. 1900 (For all other categories).
  • Applicants can pay the fee through online mode (BillDesk, PayU and PaytM).

CAT Application Correction

The authority will offer correction facility in some particular. So, applicants should fill the application correctly & carefully.

  • The CAT Application Form Correction window will be done through online mode.
  • The CAT correction will be started from September 2019.
  • Last year, the authority offer correction in some particulars such as gender, address, category, educational information, work experience, exam city preferences, interview city preferences, etc.
  • The correction will be done through “User ID” & “Password”.

CAT Exam Pattern 2019

  • Exam Date: The examination will be organized on 24th November 2019.
  • Exam Mode: The examination will be conducted through online mode (computer based test).
  • Sessions: CAT exam will be held in two sessions, i.e. morning (9 AM to 10 Noon) & afternoon (2.30 PM to 5:30 PM).
  • Duration: The exam duration will be three hours.
  • Type of Questions: The questions will be objective & subjective types.
  • Number of Questions: In the examination, total 100 questions will be asked.
  • Marking Scheme: For the correct answer, three marks will be allotted to the applicants.
  • Negative Marking: For the wrong answer, one mark will be deducted in MCQs type questions. There will be no negative marking in subjective type questions.

CAT Admit Card 2019

  • Applicants will be able to download their CAT hall ticket 2019 from 23rd October 2019.
  • CAT 2019 admit card will be available through online mode from the website.
  • Applicants should take a printout copy of the admit card & affix their photograph & bring to the exam center along with a original valid ID Proof.
  • The ID proof should be the following:

CAT Answer Key 2019

  • After a few days of the examination, applicants can check the answer key as per their codes.
  • The CAT 2019 answer key will be published through online mode.
  • The answer key along with the question paper will be released in the month of December 2019.
  • Before the releasing of answer key, the authority will release responses in the month of December 2019.
  • Applicants can also challenge the answer key till December 2019.

CAT Result 2019

  • IIM will publish CAT Score Card 2019/Result through online mode on the website.
  • CAT 2019 Results will be declared in second week of January 2020.
  • Applicants will also be intimated individually by SMS.
  • CAT 2019 score is only valid till 31st December 2020.
  • CAT Scores are allowed to be used by listed non-IIM member institutions.

CAT Admission Process

  • Each IIM has its own admission procedure. It is independent to mandate their own eligibility criteria (including academic cut offs & relative weights).
  • Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted applicants directly.
  • For selection process, performance of applicants in CAT exam will be considered.
  • IIM also uses applicant’s previous academic performance, relevant work experience & other similar inputs in short listing of candidates at various stages.
  • IIMs will organize Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI) rounds.
