Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi is an autonomous business school. It was established in 2nd May 1963. It was formed by the Government of India. The Institution was founded to focus on foreign trade related research and training. The courses are approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission).


The Institution is situated in IIFT Bhawan, B-21, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi. The campus is spread over 6 acres of land. It has a separate administrative, academic & students’ blocks.


IIFT has a central library with a vast collection of books, volumes, journals, publications, database, reports, etc.

There is a separate hostel for boys & girls with television, study room, table tennis, computer & mess facilities.

The other facilities available in the Institution are lecture halls with audio-visual aids, conference halls for round-table conferences, auditorium of 500 seating capacity, computer centers, indoor games, security, etc.

Admission Procedure

The admission to the MBA (IB) is based on IIFT Entrance Exam. This exam is managed by the IIFT, New Delhi.

The final admission is done through written test, essay write-up, group discussion & interview. Aspirants are shortlisted on the basis of Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GDPI).

Foreign National/NRI/Children of NRI admission is based on General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Training & Placement Cell

The Institution has Corporate Relations and Placement Committee which acts as a connection between industry & IIFT students.

The committee conducts the placement procedure for the students such as guest lectures, live projects, group discussions, interviews, etc.

The major recruiters are Airtel, Citi bank, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, Godrej Industries (GILAC), ITC, Mahindra, Microsoft, Phillips Healthcare, Pidilite Industries & Reliance Industries.
