JEE Mains 2020JEE Main 2020 Application Form (Jan Session) has been released from 3rd September 2019. It is conducted two times in a year. It is basically a national level exam. This examination is managed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students can appear the exam for admission to the UG engineering (B.Tech/BE) courses at NITs, IIITs, other CFTI, Institutions funded by participating state governments & other institutions. NTA JEE Main 2020 Exam is also conducted to get admission into B.Arch./B.Planning course. The admission are offered on the basis of performance in class 12th/Equivalent exams and JEE main. It is also a screening test for JEE Advanced 2020. Candidates can get information about JEE Main 2020 which includes details of application form, exam dates, eligibility, pattern, syllabus, admit card, etc.

What are the Changes in JEE Main 2020?

JEE Main 2020 test is conducted twice in a year. The authority introduces some new changes in the examination.

  • NewIconAs per the eligibility criteria for B.Arch and B.Planning courses & according to the opinion of Subject Experts, a few changes in the pattern of the question paper(s) and number of question(s) for B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch & B.Planning have been approved by the JEE Apex Board (JAB) for the conduct of JEE (Main)-2020 Examination.
  • From the year 2019, the examination is managed by the NTA. Before NTA, the exam was organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
  • The NTA JEE Main 2020 examination will be conducted through online mode.
  • The age criterion has been removed by the authority.
  • The attempt limit has been scrapped from 2020.
  • For B.Arch only, aspirants must have PCM subjects in the qualifying exam.
  • The authority also gives an opportunity to book their exam slots for online mode.
  • Requirement of Aadhaar Card is not necessary to fill an application.
  • NTA also established Test Practice Centers all over India to help aspirants in the examination.
  • The authority will give one more chance to the aspirants to improve their scores in the JEE Mains 2020 Entrance Exam. If they fail in first attempt, then they can give their best in the next attempt without wasting their whole academic year.
  • The best of two JEE Main scores of the aspirants will be considered in the preparation of the merit list.

JEE Main 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants should fulfill the given JEE Main Eligibility 2020 to fill JEE Main Application:

  • Passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination in 2018 & 2019 with at least five subjects (Physics & Mathematics are compulsory) from the respective boards.
  • Those who are appearing in the qualifying examination in 2020 are also eligible.
  • Passed the above examination with at least 75% marks (65% marks of SC/ST categories) or to be in the top 20 percentile in the qualifying exam for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs & other institutions.
  • There is no age bar limit for appearing in the JEE Main exam.
  • Aspirants can appear in JEE Main for three consecutive years.
  • Diploma holders can also apply for JEE Main but they will get admission only in IITs. Read More…..

JEE Main 2020 Application Form

  • Before filling the application, aspirants must read the instruction, information bulletin & procedure carefully.
  • The JEE Main application form 2020 is available & submitted only through online mode.
  • JEE Main 2020 Registration has been started from 3rd September 2019 (Jan session) & 7th February 2020 (April session).
  • In the application, aspirants have to upload scanned photograph & signature in a JPEG/JPG format.
  • Aspirants should take the printout copy of the confirmation page for future references.
  • Aspirants should fill the JEE Main application form till 30th September 2019 (Jan session) & 7th March 2020 (April session).
  • In any case, no application will be accepted through offline mode.

JEE Main 2020 Application Form Correction

  • NTA will provide one time correction facility to the aspirants in the particular fields. So, aspirants should fill the application carefully.
  • The correction will be done through online mode. JEE Main 2020 Application Correction will be started from 11th to 17th October 2019 (Jan session) & March 2020 (April session).

JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern

This section belongs to information about the NTA JEE main exam pattern which include mode of exam, date, number of questions, marking scheme, etc.

  • Exam Dates: The examination will be organized two times in a year, i.e. 6th to 11th January 2020 (JAN session) & 3rd to 9th April 2020 (April Session).
  • Papers: JEE Main has two papers, Paper 1 (B.Tech/BE) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning).
  • Exam Mode: It will be held in online mode for paper 1 & paper 2, except Drawing Test (paper 2). The drawing test will be conducted through offline mode.
  • Exam Medium: The medium of the exam will be English, Hindi & Gujarati.
  • Duration: The exam duration will be three hours.
  • Type of Questions: The question paper will be multiple choice types except Drawing Test.
  • Number of Questions: In Paper 1, total 75 questions will be asked. Paper 2 will be comprised of 77 questions (B.Arch) & 100 questions (B.Plan).
  • Total Marks: The question paper will be of 300 marks (Paper 1), 400 marks (B.Arch/B.Plan).
  • Marking Schema: For the correct answer, 4 marks will be given to the aspirants.
  • Negative Marking: There is a negative marking (-1 mark) for wrong answers.

JEE Main 2020 Admit Card

  • The e-admit card will be issued to the aspirants through online mode in the official website.
  • Aspirants will get NTA JEE Main Admit Card 2020 on 6th December 2019 (JAN Session) & 16th March 2020 (April Session).
  • There will be no facility to send the admit card via post to any aspirant.
  • It can be downloaded by filling ‘Application Number & Password’ or ‘Application Number & Date of Birth’.
  • Aspirants should carry the following documents along with admit card at the exam center:
    • One Passport size photograph (Same in Application)
    • Valid Photo ID Proof (PAN Card/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Driving License/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ E- Aadhaar/ etc.

JEE Main 2020 Answer Key

  • After a few days of the examination, the authority will publish the answer key along with question paper.
  • JEE Main Answer Key 2020 for Paper 1 & Paper 2 will be released through online mode.
  • Aspirants can match their answer with the help of the answer key.
  • If aspirants want to challenge the answer key, they can challenge it through online mode along with payment of Rs. 1000 per question.
  • The deposition of the fee will be done through online mode. The fee is non-refundable.
  • The final answer key will be published after all the challenges has been accepted by the aspirants.
  • It will be released along with the result.
  • The NTA decision will be final regarding answer key. No further communication will be entertained.

JEE Main 2020 Result

  • Aspirants will check their results along with the final answer key. NTA JEE Main 2020 Results will be declared only through online mode.
  • The result will be viewed for Paper 1 on 31st January 2020 (For Jan Session) & 30th April 2020 (For April Session).
  • For Paper 2, JEE Main result 2020 will be announced in the month of February 2020 (For Jan Session) & May 2020 (For April Session).
  • The NTA scores of both the examination, i.e. January 2020 & April 2020 will be published in the month of April 2020 for Paper 1.
  • For Paper 2, it will be declared in the month of May 2020.
  • It will be comprised of four NTA scores obtained by the aspirants in first or in a second attempt and four NTA scores for those, who appeared in both attempts (best of two total NTA scores).

JEE Main 2020 Score Card

  • Aspirants will download their score card through online mode. JEE Main Score Card 2020 will be available after a few days of result announcement.
  • There is no facility to send score/rank card to the aspirants through offline mode. 
  • It contains details about the candidate such as the name of the candidate, parents name, roll number, category, All India rank, state code of eligibility, marks obtained, category wise rank, etc.

JEE Main 2020 Merit List

  • JEE Main 2020 Rank List will be issued after the result declaration.
  • The rank list will be comprised of AIR (All India Rank) & All India Category Rank.
  • The overall JEE main Merit List 2020 will be prepared by merging NTA scores of all shifts of all day.

Reservations of Seats

For admission, there is a reservation of seats as per the categories. This reservation is applicable for admission to participating institutions. The seat reservation is given here:

JEE Main 2020 Counselling

  • JEE Main Counselling 2020 will be managed by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)/Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
  • It will be organized through online mode.
  • The AIR rank is used only for admission through a CSAB/JoSAA to NITs/ IIITs/ CFTIs/ SFIs/ Others.
  • All other participating institutions who do not use Centralized Seat Allocation Process, they will prepare their own rank list on the basis of the performance in the JEE Main & other criteria decided by them.
  • The seat will be given to the aspirants on the basis of their filled choices & AIR rank through the seat allocation process.
  • Aspirants can make their choices through online mode for branches/programmes & institutions.
  • The documents will be verified at the time of seat allocation process & admission.
